Description From the Newberry Library Catalogue: Manuscript, compiled and transcribed by tribal scribe, Cherokee Bread (who may also have been a medicine man), probably between 1907 and 1913, possibly containing accounts of Cherokee history, descriptions of sacred ceremonies and customs practiced by the Oklahoma tribe, or medical formulae. Text on ledger leaves appears to be continuous, and is arranged in sections numbered 87-185, and 202-319, with some gaps and some overlaps.
