Description From the Newberry Library Catalogue: January 28, 1867, letter from Senator Wilson to Ely Samuel Parker, Seneca sachem, engineer, Union brigadier general, and U.S. Commissioner of Indian Affairs (1869-1871), noting that he had read Parker’s "able report" on Indian affairs and requesting that Parker compose a bill embodying his ideas so that Wilson could submit it to the Congress.
