Description From the Newberry Library Catalogue: Brief letter to Frédéric de Waldeck in London, dated July 18, 1838, from W.T. Strangways of the British Foreign Office. The letter is addressed to Waldeck at 29 New Bond Street, following his return in 1837 from travels in Mexico, and most recently from an expedition to the ruins of Palenque and other Mayan sites in the Yucatán. The letter informs him that a box of his drawings and papers has arrived from Mexico. Strangways arranges for the delivery of the box, and requests Waldeck to pay shipping charges of two pounds to the Chief Clerk of the Office.
