Description From the Newberry Library Catalogue: Deposition given under oath in court by Benjamin Crisp in 1656. Former servant of Major Edward Gibbons, Crisp testifies in this document that a squaw sachem (female Indian chief) had promised a certain tract of land to Gibbons upon her death. Thomas Danforth, recorder of deeds for Middlesex County, verified and signed Crisp’s deposition.
