Description From the Newberry Library Catalogue: Grammar of the Mosquito [Miskito] language and Mosquito-German/German-Mosquito vocabularies, compiled by Eduard Grunewald, a missionary to the Mosquito Indians, possibly between 1860 and 1879. The first 27 pages explain the basic grammar of the Mosquito language in German, including formation and use of articles, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, nouns, and verbs, with many sample conjugations in all tenses and moods. Terms in the Mosquito-German and German-Mosquito vocabulary lists are arranged alphabetically, followed by a designation of their part of speech and their translations.
