Description From the Newberry Library Catalogue: Oct. 18, 1915, letter from Pierce to Edward E. Ayer, enclosing a typed copy prepared in 1915 of his June 14, 1909, article, "An Indian trading book of colonial Albany," which he submitted to a local newspaper, the Times-Union. In the article Pierce provides biographical information on Albany Indian trader Evert Wendell, the compiler of the 1695-1710 volume of accounts with Six Nations Indians. He also discusses the volume’s contents, significance, and provenance.
