Description From the Newberry Library Catalogue: Two copies of orders and instructions written by Samuel Vetch on May 3, 1709. This document includes Vetch’s orders to Capt. Pickering of New Hampshire instructing him to survey the French military fortifications and general forces in Newfoundland. Following this order, are instructions to Governor Dudley and "to the Two Indians to be sent to Montreal and Quibeck". Here Vetch requests that they gather military information concerning French forts, troops, and provisions in those cities.
